Fitz's Root Beer first appeared in St. Louis at a local drive-in restaurant in 1947 and has since become a local tradition.
Today, you can visit their restaurant and soda bottling line in the Delmar Loop area of University City -- a suburb of Saint Louis, Missouri. Many visitors come to sample the gigantic root beer floats.

We enjoyed visiting Fitz's and the Delmar Loop -- a ten-block area of quaint shops, restaurants and a renovated movie theater from the 1930s.
