It's my Real Estate Anniversary & I'm 1 Year Old!
Today starts my 2nd year in Real Estate. I wish I could say that I am in my early 20's... but the wrinkles on my face just won't let me do it! You see, I found my new passion and career in my 40's. I have been blessed to have done a wide variety of things throughout my life including, but not limited to: 10 years in Ministry, professional singer, Writer, Director of Client Relations, marketing company owner and most importantly, raising two beautiful daughters.
But I digress...this past year in Real Estate has been a whirlwind! The learning curve has been incredibly steep and like most things in life, you learn the most when you have made a mistake, but I wouldn't trade it for anything!
So...what have I learned?
- Don't be afraid to ask Questions - smart people ask questions!
- Triple check your work - the details matter so take the time- everytime.
- Don't be a Secret Agent - We aren't in the CIA, we are in Real Estate so shout it from the rooftops!
- Don't be a Pop-tart - Pre-qualify your clients BEFORE you pop all over town showing property!
- Learn from the Experts- Rather than feeling jealousy for the top agents in your agency or region, study them! Find out what they are doing that works and emulate! There are plenty of houses to go around and modeling from successful people will help you skirt some of the pitfalls thus speeding up your success!
