I received an e-mail this morning from a couple that I have been working with since last summer. They contacted me via my website, are currently here in Southern California and were keen to find a winter golf home. A second vacation home for them.
We started the hunt last summer here in the Palm Springs Valley, and had narrowed the match down to either La Quinta's PGA West, or Rancho Mirage's Mission Hills area. We kept in touch over the winter and they reached out to me again regarding a home that reached them on the drip I'd set up for them.
We have been exchanging information and thinking about another round of viewings. Keep in mind, they are very qualified, focused and not time wasters. When I got the e-mail today that they were going to wait a couple more years..just didn't feel it was a good time for them after all, I was a little disappointed. But..I was also happy for them. Buying a home is a HUGE investment. I'm a big believer in "don't do it if you are not ready, and comfortable with your decision."
We have talked a couple times and they are both so relieved that I'm not "mad". Good grief! I learned alot about them, they learned about my desert Valley from me, and I think made a wise decision for their lives. There is no doubt in my mind they will use me when they are ready and in the mean time, I have reached out to them as a Referral source.
Who knows what will happen in the future? There are no guarantees in real estate..none in life for that matter. But I certainly enjoy this couple and we had a great time together. A very worthy investment of my time and knowledge. No regrets!!
