When it comes to social media, we are nearly suffocated at the time of log in with posts from people all over the world. What I have found in my experience with the likes of Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc. is that attention is really only paid to that which deserves it. Namely, deserving posts often include something that sparks my interest or something I have not seen before.
In my case, aviation and all that is related to it is on my constant radar; even a glimpse of a wingtip will bring my news feed scroll to an abrupt halt. Though that might sound specific to only me, other flight enthusiasts surely feel the same way; after all, we are kindred spirits. Fresh ideas added on top of aviation are especially effective at grabbing my attention, which is just what I aim to do as a social media contributor.
I am a mortgage broker, centering my business around aviation. I like to think my business is unique in that I try to bring two seemingly different worlds into one cohesive business. Evidently, my fellow aviation-junkies think of it as pretty special, too. I have been able to harvest a following at a few different airports because of this. I am known as "The mortgage broker pilot woman," and that is just fine with me.
But that is just the real world; the social media world is a whole different ballgame. On Instagram, I am just another pilot, on twitter, I am just another mortgage broker. Bringing the two together such a platform is a challenge, but it can often lead to being quite eye-catching. Take for example:

"Remember: when waiting on an appraisal, the seller's lawn ornaments are not included in the home's value...no matter how cool they are."
Coming up with new ideas for how to set yourself apart can often be of great challenge. My advise to everyone is to find their niches and stick to them. If you are truly passionate about your unique attributes, the ideas, the captions, the posts, and the followers will come.
Own your niche.
