Redding's appeal is mainly attributed to its wonderful outdoor scenery of Mount Shasta and the Cascade Mountains and the Sacramento River winding through the center of town. Even though several retirees from Southern California and the Bay Area have come here to avoid the traffic and congestion of the city, housing costs remain reasonably affordable in comparison to other regions of California. The deals here are amazing!
