We love our Mexican food here in Austin. And, when you find great interior Mexican food and drink, you’ve got a winner! This weekend if you’re looking for something authentic, drive out to the heart of our neighboring city, Lakeway, and treat yourself to these interior and coastal favorites in a cozy, inviting atmosphere. You won't regret giving this restaurant a try and am sure you wil give it a thumbs up after your visit!

The owners of the Santa Catarina have a true appreciation for fresh food from the interior of Mexico. Their dishes are prepared only with the freshest seafood, pork and beef. A lot of their seafood dishes are prepared with fresh drum, straight from the Texas Gulf Coast. Amazing, rich flavors are part of every item on their menu; and you will taste the passion and pride they have when preparing these dishes in every bite. Tortillas are handmade, steaming hot and delicious. They are famous for their queso fresco; and all drinks are organic, with fresh-squeezed limes, fresh fruit and agave nectar.
If you’re out and about early, how about brunch at Santa Catarina? Start out with a mimosa or homemade Sangria to enjoy with your Huevos De Mi Pueblo: 2 over easy eggs, black beans, chicharron, avocado, cilantro and salsa ranchera; or you might like the Breakfast Enchiladas: 2 chicken enchiladas with salsa ranchera served with black beans and 2 over easy eggs.
If you’re there during lunch time they serve a variety of salads, soups and other dishes like their Taquitos Dorados: 2 grilled enchiladas filled with chicken, served with salsa verde, rice and guacamole topped with cabbage, sour cream and queso fresco.
Dinner service is traditional and interior regional Mexican with a modern twist and vibrant flavors. There’s Pescado a la Talla: black drum filet wrapped in a corn tortilla and grilled served with rice, grilled tomatoes and chipotle-mayo coleslaw. Or, maybe you’ll be in the mood for Lomo de Puerco: a pork tenderloin grilled, served with roasted pumpkin seeds and avocado sauce, rice and grilled vegetable. End your meal with some delicious Tres Leches with strawberries, Flan or the Torta de Chocolate! Tucked in a strip mall in Lakeway, this restaurant is certainly worth the drive!
