Have you heard about the amended grass law in Cheektowaga? The law now states that the maximum lawn length is six inches; down from the previous 10. The Town's aim is not to punish or antagonize home owners but to crack down on negligent landlords that have been ignoring vacant properties.
At 6 inches, property owners will receive a written notice and have 5 days to remedy the situation. If the yard has not been cared for after that the town will send contractors to take care of it and the expense is tacked on to the property owner via lien. Read more here.
