Ice Road Update..

PLEASE NOTE: Getting across the ice for the Candidates Forum may be another matter.  If you call the ice road "Hotline" (715-747-5400) now, you'll hear a recorded message from Arnie Nelson, advising that only four-wheel drive vehicles are allowed on the ice road at this time.  According to Arnie, there is "one little area left" on the Bayfield side where vehicles can get onto the ice.  The sandy approaches are mushy, but the ice itself remains passable.  Only local traffic is advised and Islanders are advised to move their extra vehicles to the Bayfield mainland as soon as possible.

The Hotline message closes with, "please make the least number of trips possible".  You may wind up taking the windsled to and from the Island this weekend!
