Naples Idaho is located about 20 miles north of Sandpoint and 10 miles south of Bonners Ferry just off Highway 95 on Deep Creek Loop. A small town with a population of approximately 1,800 which really is not much when you consider Naples zip code (83847) covers more than 800 square miles. The quaint town of Naples itself is like stepping back in time with the General Store, Northwoods Tavern, Elementary School, Bed & Breakfast and Fire Station.
This particular night had even more of the "North Idaho" feel to it. Rodger and Lori, proprietors of Northwoods Tavern held a benefit auction for one of the local loggers. 
After the auction, Devon Wade set up and started playing country music in the outside gazebo. A growing figure in the Boundary and Bonner Counties you can always count on good entertainment from Devon. His music seemed to be dancing through the trees and beyond as if in a natural amphitheater. 
The sunset was making for gorgeous silhouettes, the trains bringing visions of old days past, the general store's soda fountain counter seemingly having kids there sipping on their cherry cokes. One expected to see horses waiting the return of their riders with the jingle of spurs on the wood planks at the Tavern's entrance. While the soda fountain children, and the cowboys with their horses, seemed to fade away with the last of the daylight, Devon's music drifted through the trees and over the grass fields well into the night.

If ever traveling between Bonners Ferry and Sandpoint make a point to take the extra 5 minutes to swing into Naples General Store or Northwoods Tavern. Do so only if you like time travel!
