This posting was from 2008.  I've searched for information to see if a similar program will be offered in 2009 and I'll post an update here!  Added 3/18/09

The University of Missouri Association of Textile and Apparel Management will be holding its second annual Cinderella Project.  This event will provide gently used prom dresses to young ladies who may not be able to afford one otherwise.  The group will hold a "shopping day" for students on Saturday, April 12th from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm at the Armory located at 701 E. Ash.  The group is taking dress donations and for information you can contact cinderllaproj@gmail.com

Look for a project in your own neighborhood!

That's a very good idea!  I have a lot of those dresses I can donate but you are so far away.

Thanks for the comments!  For those looking for a way to donate to something similar, you may check your local Freecyle.com group!  I noticed on ours here in Columbia, several students were posting ads on the group asking for a dress donation.  Or, maybe even to borrow!

Hi Sara,

This posting was actually from an event they sponsored in 2008.  I'm looking and trying to make contact to see if this is something the group will be sponsoring in 2009 and I'll post or e-mail you an update!  A great idea especially this year while so many people are cutting back!
