Kent County, Delaware home sales are picking up, as the report from May, 2014 shows. However, the uptick in activity in May has not been enough to bring year to date figures on an upward curve.
New listings in May were up 13%, and pending sales were up 6%. For the year, another good sign for sellers is that the median sales price is up almost 7%. Inventory as a whole is still down, with single-family detached homes down 4%.
Sellers should be encouraged to know that prices are swinging upward in 2014 and that days on the market are slightly down for May. Buyers need to realize they need to work closely with their agent to find those scarce listings as they appear on the market!
