Hello everyone-Many of you know I recently visited my first 3 AR friends. Peg Barcelo in Summerland BC and Gayle Rich Boxman in Fishhawk Lake along with Debb Janes from Camas Washington. Each live in their OWN slice of paradise. All beautiful places and all special friends. Since I have been home I have been discovering my own little slices of paradise right in my own backyard.
Today I
WELCOME YOU TO MY OWN SLICES OF PARADISE
As I wrote in a previous blog I have a 3 person swing under a tree in one area of my garden. It is a beautiful spot to sit, relax and read or just sit and enjoy watching the birds or admiring my garden. Most of the day is a nice shady spot to sit except in the morning.
I also have a swing in Lindsey's memorial garden which is also a 3 person swing. Although they both would be a little bit close for 3 adults. It has its own sunroof as you can see and is tattered from the wind which started from a small tear but I have enjoyed sitting there as a place of remembrance and quiet reflection on my life with Lindsey.
Now the latest slice of paradise I have made is the smallest but the best things come in small pkgs they say. I have recently started enjoying my breakfast sitting there as well as taking time to read for a short while. It is a nice shady area in the morning so it is perfect. It is right next to Lindsey's memorial garden and right outside my back door.
There is a poem "BLOOM WHERE YOU ARE PLANTED" and so that is what I am doing my best to do. Sometimes what you are searching for is right in your own backyard.
Bloom where you are planted by Norma Duncan (1978)
Bloom where you're planted,be the flower you are
With Jesus as your leader, He'll take you far
We can't be a vegetable if God made us a fruit
We can't be a singer if our talent is the flute
Bloom where you're planted
And grow and grow and grow
Let Jesus be your leader
And let God's Spirit flow
God doesn't give all his children same jobs to do
Each one is different, do well with what He gives to you
You may be the greatest preacher
Or can't speak at all
You have a gift from God
Just respond to your call
If you're a teacher, teach your best
Find the thing you do better than the rest
Give all you have to the betterment of mankind
If we all bloom where we're planted
A great garden we'll find
