2014 Paonia Cherry Days...Things to do in Delta County CO. Mark your calendar for the 68th Annual Paonia Cherry Days. This year the festival takes place on July 4th & 5th.
There will be plenty of live music and food on both days. Cherry Days kicks off bright and early on the morning of the 4th with a pancake breakfast at 6AM. The park opens at 11AM and this is where you will find the food and craft vendors. Throughout the day you can enjoy live music, karate demonstrations, fly casting and a coal shoveling contest. There will also be a cherry pie eating contest and bake off.
On Saturday the park will open again at 10AM. Get there early, though, to catch more of the fly casting competition. The live music will continue and there will also be a local talent show. Check out the schedule for more information.
The 2014 Paonia Cherry Days also includes a children's carnival and amusement rides. There's also a parade and a 5K Run. This is one of the longest running festivals on the Western Slope. There's something for the whole family and the event is well attended. Stop by to shop the local artists and craftsmen and enjoy some great festival food. Take a break in the shade and listen to live music from Western Slope Musicians.
