I've been a real estate agent for a little over a decade. During that time I've probably sold a couple hundred homes to families across a couple counties in Central Texas. Until recently I've not been in the market for a change of venue, but as it turns out, my wife and I now think that moving a bit north would suit us well. This isn't a cross country move, but rather a 20 mile hop skip and jump from West Austin to North Central Austin.
As our story begins, the Cline family has been excitedly looking at every new listing that comes on the market in Balcones Woods, Mesa Park, Champion's Forest, Great Hills, Angus Valley, Milwood (to a lesser extent), and anyplace under $400k that looks like it might make for a reasonable commute for my wife to work at a Georgetown ICU.
I know that it takes some folks 40+ homes to find one they like. I can understand that in some situations, but never did understand it for folks looking in neighborhoods with a couple builders and a couple floor plans as many of today's master planned communities are developed. I certainly never expected it to take me this long to find a home given that I found my current home after looking at only 6 homes. Of course, in this search we are looking at older and often, um... *unique* homes that appear to have a lot of living done in them. :) We have yet to find anything that we both agree would make a good home and we are about 20 homes in.
If you have a home that you'd like to sell in any of these areas, please send me a pic and some information. We'd love to move!
PS - if you are kind enough to send me any info I will not contact you or share your information with anyone, but I may just ask to come see it with my family!
