Very often after our calls end, people will email me.
A woman from a Detroit suburb wrote in after her Free Coaching Call.
She told me more about how her area was struggling.
Many people's homes are foreclosed or heading to foreclosure.
When we spoke during her call, she was worried about how she'll survive.
She was scared she was going to need a second job.
I decided to check out the demographics myself.
She wasn't kidding. In fact, it was worse than I expected.
Detroit has an unemployment rate of 20.5%, compared the national average of 6.9%.
According to Detroit Trends data, the number of Detroit jobs has decreased
by 20% since July 2006.
They led all U.S. metro areas in the percentage of homes entering foreclosure
at more than four times the national average.
I called her back and during our conversation I asked her...
Are doctors in the area barely surviving or are they making it?
Are there new marketing companies in the area and are they making it?
Were there other growing industries? Were people still moving into the area?
The answer in each case was yes.
That's when I told her the following:
"A long time ago I learned never to pre-determine whether there were opportunities
to make money and be successful"
I told her if she would change her mind, everything else would change.
And this is the fastest way to change it!
