2014 July 4th Fireworks Show...Things to do in Montrose, CO. All the local have their favorite spots to set up for the show. If you are visiting Montrose or anywhere nearby, you will want to take in this wonderful fireworks display to celebrate the 4th of July.

For a smaller town, Montrose really knows how to put on a show. The local Rotary Club is hosting this year's event. The best places to view the fireworks are from from Sunset Mesa, Baldridge park, Cerise park and McNeil Park. The show starts after the sun goes down.

Here's what you should bring.

Bug Spray
Chairs
A blanket
Water
Snacks
Camera
The kids

I'll always remember taking the entire summer camp kids to the fireworks in Buffalo, Iowa. Three school bus loads! We sat in the bleachers at the ballpark, facing the Mississippi River. A beautiful warm summer night with nary a cloud in the sky. Our camp director split our entourage into two groups, the "Ooohs" and the "Aahhs" so that when the fireworks exploded overhead, we would be orchestrated in our reactions to the show. We laughed and laughed as the surrounding crowds joined in.
