Rentals, Mortgages and New Homes -- Oh My!

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Suplari, Inc.

Wizard of OzDear Rainers,

As many of you have noticed, I have not been very active of ActiveRain since early 2013.

I say that with great pride actually.  Don't get me wrong - I love ActiveRain!

Since early 2013, Bob, Kerrie and Kris have been running and managing ActiveRain with help from key people in product and technology at Market Leader like Brad McDaniel, Chris Anderson, and Darrell Sherr.... most importantly, without significant input from me or other executives here at Market Leader.  Instead of focusing on revenue or traffic, ActiveRain has really focused on the development of great community, high quality content and terrific training that benefit the entire real estate community.

It's wonderful to see the ActiveRain community having positive impact on the 150k agents that work with Market Leader.  ActiveRain has become a core part of Market Leader's training and coaching groups.  Now as part of Trulia, I believe ActiveRain and the ActiveRain community will have even a more powerful impact on 500k real estate agents that are interacting with Trulia on a regular baiss.

Since 2013, I have been focused on the Market Leader CRM and lead generation services.  In 2014, I have taken a new position at Trulia as VP of New Ventures, running Trulia's Rentals, Mortgage and New Construction businesses.

Soooo, you are not free of me yet.

I will no longer be CEO of ActiveRain or actively involved in the day-to-day business decision around ActiveRain, but I HOPE to and WILL be working with all the non-real estate agents on ActiveRain, especially in rentals, mortgage and new construction to understand how we can combine the wonderful ActiveRain community with the millions of consumers on Trulia.

If you have any ideas on how Trulia can better serve consumers or advertisers in rentals, mortgage and new construction, I would LOVE to hear from you.

Please stay in touch and, of course, I will see you the 'Rain!!!!

Niki

Nikesh,

You're right. There's very few agents and brokers involved with property managment. Mainly because they fear that part of the business isn't worth the time and money. I got into managing houses on the side as a way to preserve my lease listings so they could ultimately blossum into new business after the lease ended. There's a lot of potential money in managing just 10 houses at a time. When the market is down many sellers will need an agent who can provide alternatives to selling. It's a great tool to add to your services. There's a boat load to learn in property management. I look forward to any groups or conversations you can share.
