8 Questions to Ask When Hiring A Realtor – Part 1

In the second part of our two series “What Questions to Ask Your Realtor” we’re going to cover more important questions that you should ask your Realtor to insure that they really are the right candidate to earn your business.

Question 5 – How many homes have you sold in my neighborhood?  realtor questions, what to ask a real estate agent orange county

If you’re selling your home this question is vital to ask a prospective Realtor who wants to earn your business.

The more homes that a Realtor has sold in your neighborhood means that they really do know your neighborhood and have the experience with matching the right buyers with the homes that they’ve sold.

Question 6 – How many buyers and sellers are you representing now?

When choosing a Realtor you will find that the most efficient Real Estate Agents in Orange County or anywhere else in the United States are also the busiest agents who are representing multiple buyers and sellers at the same time.

Finding a busy agent who is also efficient means that they are committed to making Real Estate their only business and they want to best serve the interests of their clients while growing their businesses. If they can keep multiple balls in the air at the same time, it means they've created systems to help make your home buying or selling experience go as smoothly as possible. I can't over stress the importance of this question and how often it's overlooked in favor of being the only person that agent is currently dealing with.

Question 7 – Is your Real Estate license in good standing?

Before committing to a Real Estate agent you should always ask the question about the Realtor’s license and make the effort to research their license online as well because, this step can save you the time, money and hassle of working with a potentially unscrupulous Realtor.

Question 8 – How many years’ experience do you have in Real Estate?

During the process of buying or selling a home you may encounter new and inexperienced Realtors who just got started in the Real Estate industry. Although it’s tempting to go with a friend, family member or a Realtor who is just getting started with their career but the reality is that experience does pay off during a Real Estate transaction. It means that you will be able to accomplish your goals when buying or selling a home. After all, this is one of the biggest purchases of your life. Do you want to risk making a mistake with that much on the line?
