Why I Love Living and Biking in Littleton CO

Well I've lived in Colorado for almost a full year. What a wonderful place to call home! One of the reasons I moved here is to experience more of the outdoors. Now I'm no snow bunny or even snow angel, but I do like to be outside and the weather here makes it easy.

A favorite activity is biking down along the S Platte river on the Greenway trail. Apparently it's almost 30 miles long! Wow I think I've biked about an 8 mile stretch. I go past Hudson Gardens and all the way down to C470 before making the loop back.

It's fun to see how the water changes. I took this photo about a week ago when it was really running high and fast. It's not unusual to see kayaks and rafts and tubes on the river for those folks who are willing to brave the cold water and sleeper rocks.

I never get tired of the scenery. Beautiful view of the mountains, Littleton golf course and of course the river. Right now all the blackbirds are out singing and of course the ducks are always in residence. Babies too.

I'm finding it's a wonderful way to enjoy all the sunny days here - and even the occasional cloudy one!

Tessa, years ago my family and I spent a week of vacation around Littleton. It was beautiful. When we had to leave, it was the first time I had been anywhere that brought tears of reluctance to leave. I would like to revisit the area.

Glad you get to live and work there.

John, you're a long way from the mountains! I lived in Florida for 20+ years. I still miss my beach fix but day after day is more enjoyable here in the land of low humidity. And low skeeters   Y'all need to come back and visit. I just took another bike ride today and what a glorious day it is.

David, we are both lucky to live here thats for sure!

Tessa, lately the showers in the afternoon along with lightening and wind makes it less attractive in the afternoon, but mornings are wonderful.

You're right Joan. I'm starting to get my rides in in the morning because you never know what the afternoon will serve up! Happy Friday.
