The 6th Annual Lund Ride For Children happened on June 1st, and the powerful good is still spreading! So many riders, sponsors, and volunteers made the 6th Annual Ride For Children a fantastic and incredibly meaningful event. Here's the best part - it's not too late to support a rider. That's right - fundraising is open until June 30th!
With over 120 years of service, Lund has been creating hope, opportunity and family for over a century. In their own words, "Lund's mission is to help children thrive by serving families with children, pregnant or parenting teens and young adults, and supporting adoptive families. Lund helps all children thrive through carefully crafted programs supported by enduring, nationally-acclaimed, public-private partnerships. Lund helps families break the cycles of poverty, abuse and addiction. Lund creates hope, opportunity and family for Vermonters."
We have to say, the 6th Annual Lund Ride For Children was a blast! I was delighted that registration included a personalized website for easy fundraising, a great ride t-shirt, and entry into a superb raffle! There were a variety of routes, ranging from four, sixteen, thirty or fifty-five mile loops through our gorgeous local bike paths. Post ride festivities included a live band, face painting, bouncy houses, arts and crafts, theatre, a fire truck, and free food - including our very own Ben & Jerry's! It was dog-friendly, and the festivities were made all the more comfortable and safe with a first-aid station, snack stand, and restrooms.
With that much fun, we just wish it wasn't only once a year! Great job everyone, and here's to the Annual Lund Ride For Children.
To see more than just me on a bike (yes, that's me!), we recommend heading on over to http://bike.lundvt.org. Remember, even if we missed you there this year, there's still an opportunity to support a rider.
Lund knows how to put the "fun" in fundraising. It was fantastic, and we can't wait to see you at the next Lund Annual Ride For Children!
