Thinking of moving to our great State of Oregon with your horses?

You want to make the move as smartly as possible, avoiding the torrential down pours for your desert loving horses might make them dislike you.  Or perhaps your horse has not been on a blade of green grass since the foal days.  Just the thought of putting him out on a 2 foot tall grass pasture brings on founder.

No worries, we are here to help!  If you are looking to move to the Western part of Oregon, basically the Valley, we can help you, and your horses, through the entire process.

Moving to Oregon with horses

Step 1.

Tell us about your move to Oregon.  When do you plan on coming out to scout out the perfect farm?  When do you need to be settled here?  How big of a place do you need?  Tell us what best suits your needs, so we can point you in the right direction and provide you with a list of current properties for sale.  You can also download our free Buying Horse Property Trail Guide to provide an outline of the process.

Step 2.

Get your financing in line to buy horse property.  Because we work with rural home buyers and sellers, we also know which lenders have programs to finance your country dreams.  If you determine that you need to sell your current home, we can refer you to a great agent in your area too.

Step 3.

Schedule your house hunting tour with us.  Depending on your schedule, we can show you as many or as few properties that fit your unique situation.  Typically we see out of state buyers scheduling one or two full days with us. The days can be long if need be, depending on how far of a perimeter you would like to look in.  We break for lunch some where along the way.  We recommend bringing along a few snacks if you would like.  Also, wear comfortable shoes that are easy to get on and off, as some homes require us to remove our shoes once inside.  We do provide bottled water for the day.  If you will need temporary board for your move, we can take a quick tour of area boarding facilities as well.

Step 4.

Feedback.  This is very important.  Tell us what you genuinely do and do not like about the properties we see.  You will not hurt our feelings.  It is important to be honest so that we have a very clear picture of what you prefer.

Step 5.

Select the winner!  Which property will you choose to call home? We can help direct you to the various professionals to provide you with the details to help you make an informed decision.  Local county planning departments, zoning regulations, irrigation boards, barn builders, fence installers, etc.  We also run comps for you to determine the fair market value, along with pointing out any issues that we see as real estate professionals for resale down the road.  Our job is to look out for you and your investment!

Step 6.

Write the offer.  Congratulations, you have found the right place, got a great loan and it's time to put it in escrow!  We prepare all of the necessary documents for you, along with guidance to making a strong offer.  We will be with you through closing, (and keep up with you afterwards too :) to help direct and answer questions as they come up.

Obviously this is a brief overview of the buying process here in Oregon, but it will get you started on the right path!  So tell us how we can help you move to Oregon today!
