Never? Ever? Maybe? OK, let's do it!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Tutas Towne Realty, Inc and Garden Views Realty, LLC BK607690

Hi folks. This week Tutas Towne Realty, Inc has changed directions, slightly. We hired a Buyer's representative. I know, I know, "But Broker Bryant you don't work with Buyers, ever". Well, I changed my mind. I'm the boss and I can do that. You know one of the traits of successful people is the ability to be flexible and willing to change directions when it is called for. Ever, to me, means, not at this time. As things change and I get more data I make adjustments accordingly. You may have noticed that the market has shifted and, at least in my area, it is a full blown Buyers market. So I hired a REALTOR® to handle my Buyer business.

We've had Buyer representatives in the past but when the market changed in 2004 I didn't need one anymore. My associate, at that time, left for greener pastures and I left the position vacant. My listings, were selling in record time, so it didn't make a difference. When I did get Buyer leads, I just handed them over to a few select REALTORS® in my area and let them have them. I never charged referral fees. I used these referrals to build relationships with my peers.

But things have changed. Listings are more difficult to sell, so I have been doing a little more Buyer orientated advertising and the phone has been ringing. Now, since I definitely do not feel like riding around looking at houses, I brought someone on board to take care of that for me. I'm sure I will keep her busy. It's a pretty good job, handle ALL of Broker Bryant's Buyer leads with no inter office competition.

Let me introduce you to Veronica Folayan. Veronica has actually been a customer and friend of mine for years. I sold her a house about 6 years ago in Poinciana, sight unseen, over the Internet. We have subsequently done several other transactions. Veronica has been investing in Real Estate for quite a while and owns several properties. Even though she is a new REALTOR® she is very experienced in Real Estate. Veronica has joined ActiveRainso I'm hoping we can give her a big welcome and coax her out into Blog world. Maybe she can write about her experiences as a new REALTOR® working under me. I'm sure that will give her enough material to keep us all reading. She doesn't know I'm writing this post. I thought I would send her the link after we get some words of encouragement.

So without any further ado, please welcome my friend and new associate Veronica Folayan.

By the way, she too, is sooooooooooooooo good looking!

Final thoughts from Broker Bryant. To be successful in Real Estate or anything for that matter, be willing to embrace change. Keep you fingers on the pulse of the market and align your business accordingly. Always be willing to help and to learn from others. And most importantly, keep moving forward. It's all about forward movement.

Good luck Veronica!!

Wao Thank you all so much

This is great. If I have know that I will be this welcomed I would have twisted BB's hand a long time ago to work with him. Actiually I will let you all in on a secret BB encourage me to get my license. I am not sure if he is aware of it. I decided to get my license because of something he said to me the first time I met him after selling me my house in 2000. I just moved from Boston and working from home with the head office in Boston (this was to be a trial thing with my company). After talking to him he said, you know how he always joke, well Veronica if it did not work out with your company while you are here you can just get your license and start selling. That phrase keep hunting me every now and then and finally I just gave in and I signed up with IFREC and got my license. I just kept it, now that I have left my company  and decided to actually make some money with it. Thank you BB for being a great guy.

Let me tell you his never almost meant never. I had to twist his arm before he changed his mind. A big thank you to TWL---Roar "the little wife" with out her help I will not be here with you all. She helped a lot in making him chang his mind. Thank you TWL. Looking forward to working with you both and selling, selling.

Now that I am working for him I am glad I made the change and I look forward to  selling selling and selling and reading a lot of blog from you all. But, do not expect a lot from him for now I am just starting have pity of me. I will try to catch up with you all with all you help.

Thank you all again for the welcoming messages.

I was beginning to think Veronica was afraid of all the attention. It's good to see you finally arrive! Welcome to AR. You are working with an amazing couple. Follow their lead and you can't help but do well.

Bryant, sorry I was late to the party, but I got here eventually. Very smart move on your part. Good for the clients too, I believe! :)

I think that will be up to Veronica.

Personally I will be calling her Veronica :)

If she wants a nickname I'm sure she'll let me know.

I don't have to use my gun to get "OUR" money :)

I have a magic card and I work just as hard as my husband does. I TAKE what I want :)

I'm a very fortunate woman in that respect. My husband enjoys spoiling me :)

Welcome to Veronica, and a word of advice, don't let TLW talk you into poking a coat hanger into places they don't belong, and you might want to make sure your insurance policy is updated to cover unusual work place accidents! Good Luck!

p.s. Don't forget about the old drop and cover training we got in schools in the 60's in case you hear any loud explosions! Blam, duck 'n' cover!

Congratulations.

Personally, I have never considered seeking a "Buyer's Agent" I would love to hear the results. Would you be so kind as to provide an update? Pluses, minuses and ideas that could help all of us in the future?

Veronica, you are gorgeous.  I hope things go absolutely fabulous for you with BB and TLW.  I wish I had time to play on AR more like I used to so you won't see me so much on the blogs, but if angel and I ever come that way, I hope you'll join us with the Tutas family for some bass fishin' and general yappin'...which, with angel and I there, is bound to end up turnin' into some real CHURCH by the end of it all if we ever get that chance, Lord willing.

Bryan,

For over thirty years I've been preaching about specializing! For thirty some weeks I've added that I know of this office in FL that's so specialized that they refuse to sell even their own listings. O'well I've never been short of thing to talk about.

I do think it's a good move.

I want to say welcome to Veronica. Being the only buyers agent in a listing office sounds like a great opportunity. Regardless, keep good notes! A book about working with BB and TLW could be a lucrative retirement plan.

Our best wishes to all three of you.

Bill
