Reno Rockabilly Riot 2014

What is "Rockabilly"?  A mash-up of the words "Hillbilly" and "Rock 'N Roll", the Rockabilly movement dates back to 1950s America and has enjoyed a run here in Reno for quite a while.  Musical influences of Rockabilly include folk, bluegrass, country, rhythm and blues, boogie woogie and, of course, classic rock 'n roll.  All in all, its just a group of guys and gals who look back at a simpler time when fun was fun, Elvis was King and hot rods ruled the road.  You can be a part of the celebration by visiting the Reno Rockabilly Riot 2014 this weekend at The Nugget in Reno.

The Reno Rockabilly Riot 2014 promises four days of fun in the sun filled with contests, live music, tons of vendors and, of course, the coolest cars!  Consult with a tattoo artist on some new ink.  Watch as several lovely ladies compete in the Pin-Up Girl Contest.  Breathe in the heady aroma of high octane fuel while watching the drag races.  There will even be three separate diaper change contests on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with finalists competing for the grand prize on Sunday.  Adults are sure to have fun at the Burlesque Show on Saturday evening (8pm to 9:30pm) and anyone aged 21+ with a valid photo ID can partake in the all new for this year Rockabilly Pub Crawl for just $5 per cup on Friday evening (tickets available in the Rose Ballroom).  For a complete list of events, please visit the Reno Rockabilly Riot website here.
