5 Reasons You Should Inspect A Home Before Buying - Roberta Kayne Remax1

5 Reasons You Should Inspect A Home Before Buying – Home buying is a major decision and requires time and effort. Having a home inspection before you buy your new home is a key part of the home buying process. Read our five reasons why you should make sure a home has been inspected by a professional before you buy to make the process easier.

1. It can prepare you for projects you might have to complete upon moving in to your new home. If you’re not able to complete the projects, then the home isn’t for you.

2. Depending on the results of the inspection, you can decide on what to offer for the home. A less than perfect home inspection can often warrant a lower offer price.

3. You will learn about the ins and outs of your new home.

4. It will provide you with the actual value of the home, which in the long run can help you determine how much return you will get on your investment in the future.

5. Above all else, it gives you peace of mind knowing that a professional has given your new home the stamp of approval.

I am all over having a buyer have a home inspection. Most will not due the inspection before they have it under contract.

Great points, a home inspection by a great inspector can really help a buyer through the sales process. Thanks for sharing.

Rob and Bill, thanks for your comments.  I don't advise getting a home inspected before making an offer; but I do advise my buyers to have a home inspection regardless of what kind of home it is.  The inspector makes a huge difference too.
