The Alga Norte Community Park

Perhaps the BEST Dog Park in Carlsbad

This could be the ultimate dog park in Carlsbad, or anywhere nearby. Unless you think the beach is better.

The Alga Norte Community Park offers a wealth of options for Carlsbad dogs (and their owners). It’s a beautiful park so why not offer the best for area canines, too!?:

·        Carlsbad dogsA 2-acre off-leash park

·        Separate areas for small and large dogs (a big issue at some smaller parks)

·        Birthday parties (really!)
Benches, shaded tables for pipcnics, drinking fountains for the doggies (and people)

·        Obedience Training (Puppy Preschool, Basic Home Manners…who DOESN’T want a well mannered dog!!??)

·        Beginning Dog Agility Classes (3-months+)

·        Obstacle course play equipment (ramps, tunnels)

You can sign up for calls at www.CarlsbadConnect.org

Rachel Shay is pleased to coordinate a doggie birthday party for you and your pooch – call her at (760) 602-7619

The Alga Norte Community Park is located at 6565 Alicante Road at Poinsettia in South Carlsbad, in the La Costa Greens area.

Hi Jeff, We rally need these places as an outlet for the dogs to get to play and meet others. I hope more communities will see the need and set some park land aside for the lttle ones.

I love dog parks. There are a few about 7-15 miles from my house now but we just got approval for one in my town less than 2 miles away. We're so excited!

WIlliam - the dog park has been very popular, at least from what I have seen since I drive by often.

Chris - that IS exciting. Dog owners must be thrilled. As William says it's nice to see communities setting aside space for dogs and their owners to enjoy.

There is a dog park that just opened in Cheshire and it is loaded with 4 legged kids  and as noted it also has separate areas for big and little. The dogs run in packs around that area and the 'parents' are right behinds with the courtesy bags

Jeff, Willie the Labradoodle is sending me Trulia listings for Carlsbad homes.  I'm sure they'd make him do the obedience training before he could run off leash!

Jeff, I think dog parks are a great idea. They need the space and can leave the people parks free from debris. Thanks for posting,

KEEP KENNEL COUGH HOME!!!I absolutely love taking my dog and my dog walking clients dogs to the dog parks in our community. That being said, I have been reluctant to bring them to the parks lately because of the widespread kennel cough exposure. I wish people were aware that dogs still carry the cough after they are feeling well. PLEASE keep sick dogs home for a safe amount of time to avoid spreading illness to happy healthy pups that are at the park for a fun time! Stay healthy and have fun!

Dog parks are a great idea and targeting blogs to local areas that have them is an exceptional idea!
