Gold Hill Mesa

Gold Hill Mesa isn’t just another new housing development in Colorado Springs. It’s a community.

I know there are other master-planned communities going in throughout the city that have that same claim. But none are anything like Gold Hill Mesa. It’s truly the only new housing development like it in the Pikes Peak Region.

There isn’t a lot of new housing construction on the desirable Westside to begin with. And there especially aren’t many new homes starting at less than $200,000 in this part of the city. Prices in Gold Hill Mesa range from the high $100,000s to more than $600,000.

Then you add the fact that this Westside neighborhood is vibrant, community-focused and filled with the character and walkability you usually only find in Old Colorado City and Downtown, and Gold Hill Mesa is wildly appealing.

These are the 5 reasons Gold Hill Mesa should be a stop on your house hunt.

  1. Good luck finding a beige house in Gold Hill Mesa

Everywhere you go in and around Colorado Springs these days, the houses are various shades of beige.

I don’t have anything against the beige houses, but it’s refreshing to see splashes of color and bright, cheerful variations that keep the streetscape vibrant.

  1. Park your car in the back

Most new homes in Colorado Springs have big garages in the front. Your neighbors drive in and out and you might not ever see or talk to them.

That’s not life in Gold Hill Mesa. The garages are tucked in the back of the house along alleyways. Sure, your neighbors can still wheel in and out, keeping to themselves, but they can also sit on their front porches and socialize as you stroll past on the wide sidewalk or green streets.

  1. Who needs a yard?

Some of the new homes in Gold Hill Mesa have small fenced yards, but most just have little courtyards or patios.

The lack of yard space is great for low-maintenance living. But it’s also good for community building. There’s tons of shared green space. From the green streets to the big grassy areas open to everyone, there’s no shortage of space for playing, lounging and socializing.

  1. Events

There’s always something happening at Gold Hill Mesa. It could be yoga on the lawn, an impromptu karate class, a wine tasting party in the community center or the famed summer concert series. Regardless, many of the events are free for residents and offer fantastic community building opportunities.

  1. Walk there

Gold Hill Mesa is on the verge of making an announcement about its long-awaited commercial development. Once retail and restaurants start going in down the hill from the homes, residents will be able to walk to some of the best stores and dining in Colorado Springs. Until then, they can still walk to a few hot spots, including Bear Creek Park.

The new homes in Gold Hill Mesa have historic character and flair with all the energy efficiency and excitement that comes with building a brand new home in Colorado Springs.
