Why wouldnt you show in this market?

By
Real Estate Agent with Firebird Realty

This is definitely a rantof a post!  So we are working with some cash buyers right now interested in Million Dollar Plus Condos.  I just got off the phone with a listing agent who didn't think it was worth her time to show her property unless it was the only one our clients were interested in.  This property has been on the market for 200+ days, and I would think if anyone was remotely interested in seeing it, she would jump at the chance to open it up...  Oh well, if she doesn't want to see it thats one less qualified buyer.  Why would anyone do that in a market where buyers are a rare commodity?

Have you ever had any experiences like this?

Oh yes and it blows my mind every time it happens. I can not believe these agents are still in business and how the heck did they get the listing in the first place? The only good thing is that there is so much available to show that we just move on.

No idea why.  I don't think her seller would be happy knowing this information.  Call her broker maybe.

Dane. I think that is wrong. The Listing Agent is responsible for his client. I wonder if the client knows this? I wonder. Thanks, Royal..

Here's what it boils down to.  There are some really bad agents in this business, and it's a shame that most of the time, sellers don't know when that type of thing is happening.  Same is true of poor descriptions and no photos in the MLS, calls not being returned, etc.
