If you're looking for a local place to watch fireworks for a traditional Independence Day celebration, you've come to the right place! There are several places to enjoy the 4th of July within minutes of Castlewood and Highland Village.

Lake Cities 4th of July
Lake Dallas City Park
101 East Hundley Drive
Fireworks start at 9:15 pm but click here for a list of fun activities like a watermelon eating contest and cover bands

Red, White and Lewisville
Vista Ridge Mall, Lewisville
A Lewisville tradition!  Park in the lots at the mall for some of the best views in the city!  Fireworks begin around 9:30 pm.  Click here for more information.

Carrollton 4th of July Fireworks
Fireworks start at 9:30 pm and will be let off over Josey Ranch Lake.  There are a few parking options but your best bet is to find a close by parking lot or neighborhood to watch the 15 minute display.

Fireworks Extravaganza Grapevine
Every Friday night until Labor Day, you can enjoy a great fireworks display over the lake.  On the 4th, you will witness a beautiful 25 minute display that will light the sky for miles.  Park at Oak Grove Park, the lake, the parking structures at the Gaylord Texan or the Glass Cactus deck.  This is the 32nd year Grapevine has presented this fireworks display!

Independence Fest Flower Mound
Bakersfield Park, 1201 Duncan, Flower Mound

An evening of fun at Bakersfield Park starting at 5 pm features live music, a kid's zone, auto show and of course, fireworks, ending at 10:30 pm.

Liberty by the Lake in The Colony
Stewart Park, 3700 Sparks Rd., The Colony

A full day of events starts at 6:30 am with a 1K/5K and features fun activities like a scavenger hunt, magic shows, BMX stunt demonstration and more!  Fireworks begin at 9:30 pm.

All of the above festivities are free!  We always start our day at the Castlewood 4th of July parade and end it with tailgating and fireworks at the FC Dallas game.  There's even a Groupon for discounted tickets and an on-field experience.

Whatever you choose, make it a safe and fun 4th!  And my yearly reminder, if you have pets, make sure they are safe and secure inside your home during the fireworks.  Animals can easily be frightened by all of the loud and sudden noises.

Happy 4th!

Thanks for this post. I need to get back to posting local events like this. I used to be so good at keeping up but got into a website rebuild and heavily distracted.

It is easy to get caught up in other things but these holiday posts are the most searched items in our community!  I am guilty of neglecting things like this too.  One of my neighbors on our subdivision Facebook page asked where families watched fireworks so that inspired me to write it.  It's not too late for you
