I cannot stress enough how important it is to obtain a radon inspection from a qualified expert when purchasing a home, especially in the Northern MD, Southern PA areas. I had a home inspection today in Stewartstown Station and the radon levels were at 28.8, below 4 is recommended by the EPA. Radon is usually very easily fixed by a radon mitigation company for approximately $600. Even if you own an existing home and have never had it tested, it's worth the approx. $100 to have it done. You can even buy do-it-yourself tests at Home Depot.
