Former El Paso County Assistant District

Attorney Sentenced to Federal Prison in Bribery

Scheme

FBI El Paso June 26, 2014
  • Special Agent Michael Martinez (915) 832-5373

In El Paso this morning, former El Paso County Assistant District Attorney Antonio Reyes was sentenced to 33 months in federal prison in connection with a bribery scheme announced FBI Special Agent in Charge Douglas E. Lindquist, El Paso Division.

In addition to the prison term, United States District Judge Kathleen Cardone ordered that Reyes pay a $500 fine and be placed on supervised release for a period of three years after completing his prison term.

On April 21, 2014, Reyes pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and the deprivation of honest services. By pleading guilty, Reyes admitted that from March 30, 2011, until April 15, 2011, he conspired with others through text messaging to accept cash bribes in exchange for dismissing pending criminal cases.

“Today’s sentencing of Mr. Reyes demonstrates the FBI’s unwavering commitment to the citizens of El Paso that we will vigorously investigate allegations of public corruption in our community and bring those responsible to justice. The FBI will not allow those who are placed in a position to protect its citizens to make self serving decisions that put the public at risk,” stated FBI Special Agent in Charge Douglas E. Lindquist.

Assistant United States Attorneys William F. Lewis and Donna S. Miller prosecuted this case on behalf of the Government.

I have nothing more to add here, other than this comment which is probably worth a few points.

:-) Gabe....Hope all is well in paradise today !

I have an idea for a superhero movie in Stuart called "Lotion Man"

It's about a guy in a cape who strolls the beach looking for curvatious sunburned babes in Stuart.

He has a bandoleer filled with Coppertone, Aloe Vera and Tropicana and rubs them down before they start peeling, and then disappears.

Would you be interested in a capital venture, Gabe ?

Sounds like a great plan.  Though when I tried this in my younger single days, I was arrested!

So you were the original LotionMan, Gabe :-) I'm hiring a screenplay writer to document your nefarious escapades for Hollywood. Thousands of beautiful women in Florida have been searching for you since 1963.
