I have this couple, who I'll call Jane and Jim. Awesome couple. Been working years to rehab their credit and get into a position to buy a home. Credit issues were prevalent due to some not so wise decisions during thei youth, but hey...they have me, Larry Bettag to help them rehab their credit.
Long story short....we get their credit up to where they can finally buy. Specific instructions followed with no more borrowing. "We are in a paydown mode" I tell them. For the last 12 months they do just that and their credit scores climb to the point that they can buy!
SO THEY BUY! KILLER REALTOR HELPS THEM PURCHASE KILLER HOME!!!!!
BALLER!!!!
Then.....they lose their brains.
Through the excitement of their new found home, they immediately buy appliances to put in their "not closed on" new home....but they haven't even been approved or final approved. When the credit update comes, their credit scores drop so that they don't qualify anymore.
But, alas, every good story has a fairy tail ending. The seller's wanted to push the closing back because of getting into their new home. We helped the clients through a bit of work, coupled with a bit of time....and now everyone is off to living happily ever after.
They drove me nuts, but I have to tell you...I love this couple and we'll remain good friends over the years. The joy that they got at the end of the day made even the headaches worthwhile. This is why I'm in the business.....to help others. I love the fairy tale endings!!!
AND THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER!!!!
