Greater Waterbury CT July 4th 2014 Celebrations and Fireworks

We had a big rain storm in the Greater Waterbury CT area that caused havoc with the holiday fireworks schedules. The revised dates are written in RED below.

 

July 4th 2014 Fireworks and Celebrations in the Greater Waterbury CT Area

It will be a busy week of celebrations of the July 4th holiday in the Greater Waterbury CT area. It's a Birthday Celebration, number 238 for our nation. While a relatively young country by comparison to some in the world, we are still viewed as the greatest Democratic society in the world.

 July 4th 2014 Fireworks and Celebrations in the Greater Waterbury CT Area

 There will be celebrations with parades, picnics, family activities and fun for all with many towns capping the evening with fireworks.

Here is a partial listing of fireworks displays that will be offered in the Greater Waterbury CT area this week.

 

The Naugatuck CT fireworks display has been rescheduled to Sunday July 6. This year they will be held on Old Firehouse Rd in the downtown area. The festivities will begin at 6 PM with various street entertainers and a DJ. The fireworks will go off at 9:15 PM.

Cheshire CT will hold their celebrations on the town green at 10:am on July 4th with the reading of the Declaration of Independence and a commemoration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The Beacon Falls CT fireworks will be held on Sat July 12. The fireworks will be lit off at dusk at the Pent Rd Recreation Complex. Buses will be shuttling viewers from the downtown area and the Woodland High School

Lake Compounce in Bristol CT will hold its fireworks display at 10 PM, on Friday July 4. Lake Compounce has the distinction of being the longest continuous running amusement park in the United States.

Middlebury CT will have 3-D fireworks at Lake Quassy Amusement Park at app 10:15 PM on Sunday  July 6.

Thomaston CT will have its 49th July 4th Children's parade at 11:00 AM on Old Northfield Rd, through the downtown area.

Torrington CT will have its July 4th celebration starting at 4 PM on the grounds of the Torrington Middle School. The day will feature carnival rides, games, live music and food. The fireworks will  begin at app 9 PM.

Waterbury CT will hold its fireworks display at Municipal Stadium on Sunday July 6th on Watertown Ave with gates opening at 6 PM. There will be no access to the inside of the stadium due to the renovations being done to the grandstand area. The best viewing can be seen from either the north or south parking lots or at the nearby Kaynor School. Refreshments will be available.

Ed I wish ours was on the 4th like many of yours are.  Ours is on the 3rd. and something about having the fireworks on the 3rd just does not feel the same.
