Rockefeller is said to have been the richest man on the planet when he bought The Casements, in Ormond Beach in 1918. The structure was named after the casement windows that faced the Halifax River (Intracoastal Waterway). During the Rockefeller days, famous visitors to the Rockefeller home included Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, and Will Rogers. Rockefeller passed away in 1937.
