Things To Do In Downtown Columbus- July, Aug, Sept - Downtown Columbus is always buzzing with new events and activities! Check out some of these exciting things to do Downtown to discover something new- or re-discover an old favorite this summer.

July

Gallery Hop

What: This great event lasts all summer long! The first Saturday of every month! Come enjoy live performers and vendors, while local galleries open their doors to all.

When: The first Saturday of every month.

Where: The Short North

Red White and BOOM 

What: To celebrate Independence Day! Enjoy a parade, Children’s park, Taste of BOOM, and more! Ending in the largest fireworks display in Ohio! This is great for all ages! 

When: July 3rd Noon-11pm

Where: Downtown Columbus. The stages are located in Bicentennial Park, in Genoa Park (Washington Blvd.), Taste of BOOM! (Nationwide Blvd.), Nationwide Blvd. (Near Nationwide Arena), and on Long St. (at the corner of Neil Ave.)

Columbus Commons KickBall

What: Enjoy the second session of Columbus Commons Kickball! Join a team or gather up some friends and register by July 2nd to play some kickball! July 17 - September 25 

When: July 17, 24 & 31, August 14 & 28, September 4,11, September 25 (playoff game), October 2 (makeup date).

Game Times: 5:45 pm, 6:45 pm, 7:45 pm

Maximum Number of Teams: 12

Jazz and Rib Fest

What: Three stages will host the finest local, regional and international jazz artists, while BBQ pit masters serve up sizzling ribs, chicken and more. Savor the best ribs from around the country as 23 award-winning BBQ teams compete for the title of "Best Ribs". Admission is FREE!

When: July 18, 19, 20 Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. Sunday, 11 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Where: Downtown Columbus, Ohio along the Arena District riverfront in McFerson Commons and North Bank Park.

Picnic with the Pops

What: Enjoy live concerts in the park!

When: July 5, 12, 19, 25-26   6-8pm

Where: Columbus Bicentennial Pavilion in the Columbus Commons (160

Ohio State Fair

What: Come experience the Ohio State Fair! With great concerts, food, and rides! Perfect for the whole family- and even for multiple trips!

When: July 23-Aug 3rd 2014

Where: Ohio Expo Center 717 E. 17th Ave. Columbus, OH 43211

Pelatonia

What: A grassroots bike tour with the goal to end cancer! Three days of cycling, entertainment, and volunteering! Register to ride, volunteer, or come out to enjoy the experience of a community trying to end cancer.

When: August 8-10, 2014

Where: 160 S. High Street, Columbus, OH 43215

Pearl Market

What: A spin to your local farmers market- the Pearl Market has a wide range or products! From your locally grown produce to handcrafted goods, the Market also allows an opportunity for small business entrepreneurs to grow. Located in the back alleyways between Broad, High, Gay, and Third streets!

When: Tuesdays and Fridays, 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m., mid-May through October

Huntington Park

What: Home to the Columbus Clippers! Head out to enjoy a baseball game with the entire family! Check out the schedule to find out when the next Dime-a-Dog night is!

Ohio Theatre

What: Head out on the town to watch an amazing show or a CAPA movie showing!

Whetstone Park of Roses

What: One of the largest municipal rose gardens in the U.S., this 13-acre park features more than 11,000 gorgeous rose bushes and specialized gardens for herbs, daffodils and perennials.

What: Live performers that are also your waiters and waitresses! Enjoy a meal while being entertained with performances and music.

COSI

What: A fun spot for children young and old. Experience all things science. Come anytime, but be sure the check the calendar for special exhibits and shows.

Columbus Brew Adventures

What: Columbus Brew Adventures offers small group tours of breweries, brew pubs and distilleries in Columbus.

Scioto Mile

What: A waterfront park right in Columbus! Enjoy fountains, gardens, and trails winding along the Scioto Riverfront.
