2014 Fireworks and Fourth of July Celebrations In & Around Edwardsville, IL
The communities in St. Louis' Illinois suburbs love to celebrate the Fourth of July with booming fireworks and all-American picnics, parades and parties.
Here's a quick list of some of the sparkling activities in Madison County, IL over the 2014 Independence Day holiday that will help you and your family have a wonderful summer break:
Alhambra -- July 4 at 9 p.m. in Township Park
Alton -- July 3 at 9:15 p.m. at the Mississippi Riverfront
Edwardsville -- July 5 at 9:20 p.m. at the American Legion Park
Godfrey -- July 4 at 9:15 p.m. at Glazebrook Community Park
Granite City -- July 4 at 9:15 p.m. "Patriots in the Park" at Coolidge Middle School on Nameoki and Fehling roads.
Highland -- July 4 in Glick Park at dusk
Troy -- July 4 at dusk in Tri-Township Park
Edwardsville's celebration has been expanded to include a Veterans' March that begins at City Park at 11 a.m on July 5 and ends at the American Legion with a flag-raising ceremony.
A beer garden and concession stands open on the Legion grounds at noon and music starts at 2 p.m. with local favorite Mo' Pleasure playing until 6 p.m. The afternoon also includes a children's area with a variety of activities. The Edwardsville Municipal Band plays in the evening and the fireworks display kicks off at 9:20 p.m.
Parking shuttles run from the Main Street Community Center and Eden Church in downtown Edwardsville beginning at 5 p.m.
