Happy Fourth of July Vancouver WA 2014 Style !!

Our kids are all grown now but our large family used to love to go to the Fort Vancouver park to wait for the evening's fireworks! We would lie out on our blanket all day and "people watch", listen to the bands, visit all the vendor booths and relax in the sun.  (Once I painted my husband's toenails red while he took a nap. He was extremely unhappy about it but he survived.) It's a fun day and it's not stressful. We would haul in our home made fried chicken picnic, drink coolers, frisbees and whatever else we thought we needed for the day.

The Fourth  of July Vancouver WA is a huge park, mostly on a gentle southern slope towards the Columbia River in the distance. It's located not too far from downtown Vancouver, WA. There's plenty of street parking and the walk is pretty easy.  There are tons of booths of food for sale, lots of activities for the kids, different bands playing all day, an Adult Beverage Pavilion...etc.

There are great sponsors who are working diligently to support our fabulous Fourth of July Fireworks display
so we can continue to enjoy the fun each year. Bank of America and Toyota are two of the main sponsors.

Things have changed since we used to bring our kids. Now they have to charge admission and a parking fee to support the mammoth fireworks display.    Here is an excerpt from the Fort Vancouver Fourth of July webpage:
