What does it say  when a real estate sales professional passes a card to a potential listing client and upon receipt the client looks back somewhat confused and doesn't know what to say?  The photo on the business card is circa 1991 and the marketing concept is remindful of the corny used car ads we all love to make fun of.  

 


  

More importantly, how does the homeowner feel when faced with an agent that has a general disregard for their own brand or image?   The competitive landscape unfolding in front of us suggests that Realtors as well as other sales professionals will have to follow a "best practices" work ethic and marketing approach in the near future or prepare to lose ground in the battle over clients.

The same goes for photog's of the home.  With companies like GoPro producing HD cameras that are setting the standards higher for Realtors who want to be LISTING-centric, it won't take long for the "best of the best" to adopt these new technologies. I see evidence daily. The NEW WORLD REALTORS will use these technologies to empower their marketing and listing approaches within their farm areas, further distancing themselves from their competition.

I give a business card as a formality but also ask if I can call/text them and for them to add me to their phone as Realtor!

Jack, Great Post.  As a Pilot myself... Im sure if the FAA has its way it may be sometime before everyone can fly one.  It will open business opportunities...
