Solana Beach Ca has always been a dog friendly city, but now it is even friendlier. On May 28, 2014 the Solana Beach City Council voted unanimously to allow dogs on leash in limited areas of the beach. The new regulations state that, beginning July 12, 2014, dogs will be able to enjoy the beauty of the beaches north of Tide Park Beach to Cardiff State Beach and south of the Del Mar Shores Beach to Del Mar. The one limitation does not allow dog access to the beach via Fletcher Cove or Seascape Surf at any time. The Solana Beach Ca new dog beach regulations also state that they must be on a maximum of a six foot leash at all times, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs. This was wonderful news to the local residents who can now walk their beach loving companions from Solana Beach to Cardiff-By-The-Sea or Del Mar.
Solana Beach historically has not permitted dogs on their two miles of coastline. At the request of some dog owners, the city began a study last year on whether allowing them would have a significant environmental impact. The results of the study concluded that they would not, and the Council voted unanimously in favor of the new regulations. Safety concerns were cited as the reason for prohibiting dogs at Fletcher Cove, the city's main beach.
Lifeguards that protect the city's beaches were especially happy with the Solana Beach Ca new dog beach regulations. Much of their time has been spent talking to dog owners who unlawfully have brought their animals to the beaches. Now it will be easier for them to focus on safety and not enforcing the dog restriction rules.
Dogs are already allowed on neighboring beaches. Leashed dogs are permitted at Cardiff State Beach. Del Mar Dog Beach gives your sweet friend the opportunity to run free on the beach from the day after Labor Day until June 15. Del Mar also allows leashed dogs on their beaches year round.
Now Solana Beach is joining its neighbors and making it a more dog friendly world. If you like walking your special friend, come and experience the Solana Beach Ca new dog beach regulations and enjoy the beauty of the Solana Beach shoreline.
