Service to others fills a need and puts smiles on faces!
From the time our boys were old enough to walk, I took them with me when volunteering time to others in an effort teach them that some things do not come with a price attached. Doing for others, for me, fills my heart and brings an inner peaceful feeling when I see the smiles on people's faces.

We have volunteered:
- For people with disabilities and were honored with a Volunteer of the Year as a family for our involvement. We'd go fishing with a group of people who had cerebral palsy, spend holidays like the 4th of July and enjoy BBQs together.
- Filling up hundreds of plastic Easter Eggs and going to the local rehabilitation centers to spread some cheer to those whose days are relatively the same on a daily basis. One woman was so excited, she wanted to keep the Easter Bunny! She was soooo cute!
- Buying several half gallon containers of ice cream and cones and going to a center that specializes in training down syndrome adults to become self-sufficient through job training. After lunch, a line would form and everyone got an ice cream cone!
- I was voted into a business group through the St. George Area Chamber of Commerce called the Dixie Sunshiners who welcome new businesses in southern Utah. We do ribbons cuttings, ground breakings and grand openings. What FUN that is!
- The Huntsman World Senior Games, St. George Marathon, St. George Art Festival, Womens Collegiate College Softball Championships, local parades are also some yearly events in my community that are attended every year.
- We also grow a home garden every year that produces an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables. We often take overflow into town to the local shelter to help feed those in need and also helped to paint and landscape the homeless shelter in year's past.
Also have volunteered in these capacities:
- Past President of the Sales and Marketing Council of So. Utah
- Member of National Sales and Marketing Council
- Member of Womens Council of REALTORS
- Active in Southern Utah Home Builders Association
- Active in The St. George Area Chamber of Commerce
- Past Board of Director Member for Washington City Chamber, Washington, Utah
- Past Member of the Business and Professional Women Foundation
- Affiliate Committee volunteer for the Washington County Board of REALTORS
It takes little effort to volunteer some time or put a genuine smile on someone's face and I sincerely think that we will be remembered for our service to others!
