The Lowry Redevelopment Authority (LRA) has announced the homebuilders chosen to develop the Buckley Annex property. They have selected Berkeley Homes of Aurora, Infinity Homes LLC of Denver, New Town Builders of Denver and Wonderland Homes of Lafayette to build the first single-family homes on the 70-acre site. The development will be called Boulevard One and is located on the corner of East First Avenue and Monaco Parkway in Denver, across from Crestmoor Park.
Initial plans call for building up to 75 homes ranging in size from 1,400 to 3,200 square feet and prices between $400,000 and $900,000. Construction should start late summer or early fall once lot sales and design plans are completed. Closings on the first lots are expected in July.
These builders have award-winning home designs in other communities and will kick off a vibrant and stylish new neighborhood. At full build-out, there will be 120 single family homes, 230 row homes, 450 apartment units and 200,000 square feet of retail and office space. The Buckley Air Force Base community is a wonderful place for families and offers many amenities including a teen center, swimming pools, skate parks, jogging trails, bike paths, soccer fields, tennis/basketball courts, skate parks, and weight rooms.
This property is the last remaining piece of the former Lowry Air Force Base to be transferred by the Department of Defense to the Lowry Redevelopment Authority. The site previously was home to the Denver Center of the Defense Finance and Accounting Services and the Air Reserve Personnel Center.
Buckley Air Force Base is located in Aurora, Colorado, and is the third most populous city in the state with a population of 325,000 as of the 2010 Census. The communities in Aurora are served by Aurora Public Schools and Cherry Creek Schools, both offering first-rate educational opportunities.
