What does the phrase "fresh air" mean to you? To me, it means a fun-filled week with our "Fresh Air Kid".
When we moved to our home on the water nearly three years ago, we wanted to share it with as many friends and family as possible, and we decided to open our home to a kid from New York City through the Fresh Air Fund.
The Fresh Air Fund matches NYC kids aged 6 to 18 with host families who welcome them into their homes for 1-2 weeks. What you do during that time is up to you. This will be our third summer with the same kid, and, now that we have all gotten to know eachother, we will have no trouble deciding what fun things we want to do every day.
We didn't know what to expect when we first decided to take the plunge and sign up, but we are so glad we did! For us, the experience has been phenomenal, and we think our "Fresh Air Kid" would agree.
