Honesty is the best Policy

In an industry that is filled with breakdowns in communication  and agendas that often leave someone holding the short end of the stick, I'm happy to say that I have had clients tell me on numerous occasions that they appreciate my honesty. On every listing presentation, I always try to give clients my Honest opinion of what I think there home is worth and how I came to this conclusion. I usually get the I think it's worth way more response, but in the end it's the market that's going to be the true predictor of the price of a home. This has been a very successful approach for me. I know some Realtors will tell a client what ever they want to hear for a contract, but I think that just leads to problems down the road. Furthermore, people already have horrible preconceived notions about Realtors, and I don't want to be fuel to that fire.

Great point! It is so important to be upfront and honest, especially when setting a price for a home. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work.

Always tell the truth. There is plenty of business out there, we just have to find it.

I so agree honesty is the best policy. Saying what a customer wants to hear can lead to problems later.

Honest opinion can be twisted, all depends on the individual values and background. But one can strive to be honest with others and with him/herself.
