Welcome to my Lexington, Virginia Blog.
It is another sunny day in Lexington. The flowers are in bloom and the red bud tree is showing it's colors. Spring is officially here and it is wonderful. The cadets from VMI are walking around town in their whites with short sleeves. Collage students from Washington and Lee are in their shorts and sandals. Baseball games are in full swing and our teams at both schools are doing well.
The season is opening this week for Hull's Drive In. That's right, we still have a Drive In with two movies every week starting this week with a kick off parade, through the summer and early fall. Everyone in town seems to be smiling and walking with a spring in their walk. It's a wonderful time to be here.
We've noticed that the tourist season is beginning. Lots of folks are visiting Stonewall Jackson's grave and Robert E. Lee's Chapel. Most of you may not know, that Mr. Lee was the president of Washington and Lee University for the last few years of his life.
My fellow Rotarians are preparing for the Grand 4th of July event, which draws people from all over Virginia. I will share more of that event as we get closer to it.
Hope you are all having a great spring season and look forward to a productive spring.
