Most of us go about our business not worrying about being assaulted. Women, sometimes, are victims of an unprovoked attack and can be completely surprised by someone they "thought they knew."
Before this happens to you, please read the following and see if it is something that you could do in a life-threatening situation.
It is important first of all to know that you can do it. And then to practice it until it becomes something you can feel confident doing.
First of all, you need to act immediately upon feeling threatened. Better to get them before they get you. So, if you have that "odd feeling", it is better to apologize later than to be a victim now.
The majoritiy of people who attack are bullies, and they may just come at you for no apparent reason. They will not expect you to strike back, and especially to know their pressure points. You must act fast and without hesitation. Otherwise, they will just be more aggressive.
First jab your forefinger and middle finger into a point between the collar bones just under the Adam's apple (we are assuming this is a man, but it works on anyone). Jab as hard as you possibly can, this causes extreme pain, shock and cuts off the air supply. It will at least stop the attacker from coming any closer momentarily.
Then, after you have shocked him, kick him in the groin as hard as you can muster. Don't worry about your dress, your appearance or anything else. Get to that as quickly as possible before they have time to recover from the strike to the neck.
Now, that you have his attention, slap attacker's ears with both hands and do it as hard as you It will make them try to defend their head while the pain in the groin and the neck are still smarting.
Now, jab the eyes. And go for the gusto. See if you can push as hard to the back of the head as possible. You could try another groin attack now. But, if he is on his knees, run......to open up some space between you and the attacker so you can get away.
If you have the ability and sometimes, hit the emergency button on your cell phone...
You have one programmed into your phone, right? That goes immediately to 911.
(I have actually hit this by mistake.)
Good luck out there and stay safe.
