2014 Ouray, CO Brewfest...Grillin & Chillin Brew and Music Fest. This is the 7th year for the Grillin' and Chillin' Festival. It's August 23 this year. This is a family and dog friendly event. It really is a great time for the whole family. There will be a bump and jump for the kids and bring your beach balls and fribees, too.
These pictures were taken at last year's festival. Here's more pictures. Bring your blankets and favorite festival chairs and get ready to settle in for a great afternoon of music. You can't beat the scenery in Ouray. Just look up and you won't want to look back down. You are surrounded by rugged mountain peaks.
General admission is $5. That will get you an afternoon of live music. The music starts at 1PM and goes until 6PM. If you want the commemorative tasting glass to sample the different beers...the cost is $30. Food will be sold by local vendors. This all happens at the park next to the hot springs.
The lineup of food vendors, musicians and breweries is still in the works. Stay tuned for more information.
Many beer brewers from around Colorado will be there for the tasting. Last year there were even some brewers from Utah. It was a really fun time. The music was wonderful, and so was the food. I had fun sampling a lot of different micro brewed beers. Some were pretty amazing like the cherry beer from Paonia's Revolution Brewery.
Ouray is a small, resort, mountain community in Southwest Colorado. It's a beautiful place to visit no matter what is going on in town. The town sits in a box canyon with rugged peaks towering above you. The town is known for it's wonderful scenery and hot springs pool.
I've lived on Colorado's Western Slope for over 24 years. I love this area and all it has to offer, and I enjoy sharing what I know about my home.
