Jobs and Golf - Asheville, N.C. : A division of Auburn Hills, Michigan-based BorgWarner, will be adding jobs to the south Asheville/Arden plant in Buncombe County. According to Business North Carolina, a division of the manufacturer, BorgWarner *Turbo Systems will invest $55 million and add 154 jobs to its existing 650 over five years in its plant in Arden. The jobs will pay an average annual salary of $69,524- which could be a point of interest for home builders, buyers, and sellers in the Asheville area.

Business North Carolina reports: “The company expects production at the plant to double over five years to meet increased demand for more fuel-efficient vehicles. BorgWarner, which opened the factory in 1977, had sales of $7.4 billion last year — $5 billion of that came from engine-related products. It operates 60 plants in 19 countries and will receive a $126,000 grant from the state’s One North Carolina Fund if job-creation and investment targets are met.”
