Have you heard? There is a new movement afoot among the recently re-employed.
They have discovered a rule that will serve them well in the future. It is one I learned long ago, too.
And, while, I am not rich, I am able to live without fear.
IF YOU HAVE TO BUY IT ON CREDIT, DON’T BUY IT!
There is no guarantee that your job or career will be there next week, next month or next year…even for the self-employed.
You could be in an accident, become incapacitated through illness, your company might move or be acquired and you are left without the means to sustain living, let alone within your means.
And, now, you have a mortgage, food, insurance, likely a vehicle loan, and credit card debt for something that is worth half what it was when you bought it.
College age students are hardest hit by the credit card debt load. And, then add student loan debt to that, and you can see that there won’t be a home purchase in the future for many of them for years and years.
Everyone needs to learn the economic facts of life. I hope that not all learn them the hard way with debt collectors calling their cell phones every two hours.
AGAIN, IF YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR IT WITH A CREDIT CARD, AND IT IS NOT A NECCESSITY, DON’T BUY IT!
