August Activities Powderhorn Mountain Resort Grand Mesa
Just because there isn't any snow on the ground doesn't mean Powderhorn Mountain Resort is closed. The ski resort is working hard to be known for something besides skiing. Powderhorn had a full range of summer events planned this year, and the fun continues into August.
Here's a list of the fun things coming up at Powderhorn Mountain Resort in August:
August 2nd - Outdoor Fest...Here's a list of events planned for this festival:
- Battle of Powderhorn Paintball Scenario...Scenario Paintball involves individuals and teams acting out a story. The resort website has registration information.
- BBQ Cookoff. Cooks register on the Powderhorn Website. Tasters are welcome and the charge is a $10 parking fee. This happens between 11:00 and 5:00.
- The chairlift, bungee trampoline and bag jump will be open from 10am to 3pm.
- Mountain Man Movie Night. This is the last night for movies. This is a family show and it's free. No outside food and beverages, please. the movie starts at 8:00.
- The Sunset Grill will be serving food and beverages during the day and the movie. There will also be live music.
August 3rd - Outdoor Fest continues:
- The Battle of Powderhorn Paintball Scenario continues.
- Chili and Salsa Cookoff. Cooks register on the Powderhorn website. Tasters are welcome and the charge is a $10 parking fee. This happens between 11:00 and 5:00.
- The chairlift, bungee trampoline and bag jump will be open from 10am to 3pm.
- The Disc Golf Tournament Series continues.
- The Sunset Grill will be serving food and beverages during the day and the movie. There will also be live music.
Here are a few reminders if you are planning on going to Outdoor Fest:
Bring plenty of water.
Sunscreen is a must.
Always be prepared for weather changes. Keep rain gear on hand and even an extra set of clothes.
After Outdoor Fest, the resort will be gearing up for four weekends of fall fun to celebrate the season and color weekend in September. Stayed tuned for more information.
