3 Reasons Why You Should Work with a Tech Savvy REALTOR®

The sales transaction can be a challenge, no matter what the market, with a myriad of details to attend to, documents to sign, and decisions to make.

Working with a tech savvy REALTOR® to sell your Carlsbad home can be a tremendous advantage to you and to your transaction. How?

COMMUNICATION

How will YOUR agent use technology in your home selling transactionUsing technology allows for a faster response in many cases, and in a format you may prefer.

Texting, emailing, Facebook messaging, Skype and Facetime, in addition to the phone and being face-to-face, offer a broader exchange of information and getting answers to questions more quickly, and at times when you are not actually available to talk in the case of texting and email.

Don’t use email or texting? Not to worry, a tech savvy agent will still get the job done using more traditional communication.

You want and need communication from your agent. A tech savvy agent has more tools to make that happen quickly. But obviously they have to use them. And they need to know what works best for you!

DOCUMENT SIGNING

my iPhone is my computer on the goElectronic signatures are widely used and permitted (don’t count on all banks allowing them, or in the case of REOs and short sales).

Being able to sign documents virtually, no matter where you are as long as you have some sort of web access (laptop, iPad, iPhone, Smartphone), and without having to print, sign, then scan/email or fax, saves time and is more efficient.

Plus it saves paper. Multiple parties can sign documents within minutes and be thousands of miles apart. Still like to hold paper or sign in the flesh? It can be done. Sometimes there is no choice.

Electronic signing saves YOU time and hassle. Isn’t that what you want when selling your home? And you’ll be able to download a copy of everything you have signed to save on your laptop, a disk drive, or a CD. And documents can be saved “in the cloud” so you always have access, 24/7/365.

MARKETING

A sign will show what happened but will not likely sell your houseWe know an overwhelming majority of buyers are looking for homes online. You NEED to be there, or your house does, for them to find you. Remember – the first Open House is on the Internet, the instant you go live on the MLS.

If your REALTOR is not using the Internet to create a significant presence for your home, you are missing out on a significant potential buyer pool, which includes agents who are looking on behalf of their buyer clients.

Relying on a sign in the yard, an open house or two, and a newspaper ad simply will not cut it in most markets these days. A tech savvy agent KNOWS where to target market your home online, and to use technology to get the word out to everyone who could be a buyer for YOUR home. You know you need maximum exposure, to get in front of as many eyes as possible. A tech savvy REALTOR®

makes that happen.

Jeff, the consumer needs to know that you as an agent have multiple ways of communicating with them. Most do not want to spend a lot of time driving to your office to sign documents, so esign will be a great benefit to them.

Thanks for sharing.

Your points ring true, Jeff. Technology most definitely aids in our fast-paced real estate market. I work with a number of Seniors, not all of whom are comfortable with newer technology, and thus at times need to go back to the old way of doing things. It sure makes me appreciate how tech advances smooth out the bumps in the road.

Jan - agreed. And it essential these days. BUt there are still some clients who need us to be more traditional, and that's OK too

Mark - agreed. Technology can go a long way toward reducing hassles, at least when it works as it should

Sheila - so true. Just being a tech savvy realtor is NOT enough.

John - I have only had a couple of clients in recent years who could not do the elecgtronic signing because they did not do email. For most people it is such a time saver (and for me, too!)

Lottie - we all have to be flexible with regard to using technology or more traditional methods. I had a recent seller and a buyer where everything had to be signed in person, and copies provided. But that's waht we needed to do to make it happen, so we did
