I hire a professional for my pictures. I like taking pictures, but don't have the higher end equipment, and talent they have.
If someone doesn't slap a gold star on this soon, there is something wrong with the AR Gods.....funny, but extremely well written post on a very important subject.....well done Marie.
It gets my gold star.

Wallace-**IF** someone can do these well, that is awesome, money that stays in their pocket. If they can't, or don't care, and just slap any old photos out there, huge loss.
Carol-I'm with you and leave it to the pros. I know how to make it look good, but don't have the equipment or understanding of the technology.
ROGER, SHARON! So kind, thank you!!
Can't believe no one paid attention to this and Featured it Marie....everyone should be reading this.....everyone.
What I don't get is some agents just don't take the time to at least put down the toilet seat - or clear a table of junk, turn on the lights, etc., prior to taking the photos. They have a lot invested in selling a listing! How long can that take? Why aren't brokers overseeing this kind of thing? In my opinion, this makes the agent look terrible! Who would want to list with someone that does NOT present their "wares" in a positive manner?
I have suggested and can't understand why this one is not featured! I came by from Sharon's re-blog. Photos can make or break a presentation os a listing.....remember the buyer wants to show off their new home! Fliers, MLS pictures,d tours etc. are what they send to friends and families!!
Julia-we are singing the same song! When I hear an agent/broker disparage 'the high cost of staging' and yet see they've left lights off, junk on the table, etc in their photos I just shake my head.
Dorie-thank you!! Not just for the suggest, but I have never connected the dots farther than the pictures working to get the house sold, BRILLIANT to take it farther and say these are used to show off to their friends/family, further marketing said agent and brokerage. I think the time has come to pass Roger's Gold Star to YOU!!
Sharon-thanks for the re-blog!!
Marie, our broker has established fairly well defined standards when it comes to listing photos. I have invested quite a lot in photo equipment, but we have since hired an in house photographer for more consistent photos.

NICK! That's the way to do it!
Thanks Ana! Maybe if enough of us keep saying it....!!
I must have gotten some of the photography genes from my uncle as I enjoy taking my own property photos and doing my own property floor plans when they are not available online. Since I want the rental home to be featured VACANT, I'm the most likely one to be able to do it.
